2. Slat Wall
Also known as a nature wall, salt wall panelling is a modern interpretation on what was originally a traditional style. It can be created using MDF slat wall panels, or wood beading. First created for use as acoustic panelling, today slat wall panelling is a popular style in its own right. Ideal for living rooms or cinema rooms, slat wall panelling will improve acoustics when installed behind a screen or speakers, but also works really well in bedrooms too. If you choose to use wood to create a slat wall, you can wax or stain it for a natural look, or paint MDF panels.

4. Shaker Style
Possibly the most popular panelling style, shaker panelling is easy to achieve and will completely transform any space. Perfect for adding character and architectural detail, shaker style panelling will reinstate original features in older properties, and add charm to more modern homes. Shaker panelling traditionally covers an entire wall, but it can also look great as a half panelled wall too (known as Batten and Board). Today shaker panelling can be created from MDF panels which are more cost effective than wood panels.
